Partnering again with our hometown paper, JESS3 worked closely with the Washington Post to create an illustration surrounding a complex article exploring the soon to be released Top Level Domains. In both the article as well as our illustration, the focus shows a shift away from traditional extensions like .com, .org and .net to emerging domains like .sport, .run and .life. The skyscrapers represent the future of the web, as businesses fuel the construction of this new digital landscape just as they drove the changes of city skylines. The old domains fall into disuse in the foreground, appearing shorter and abandoned when looking at the city skyline. The article ran on the front page of The Washington Post on February 7, 2011 and online under the curated conversation tag: #icannlove.
