To leverage the success of C-SPAN's DNC and RNC Convention Hubs, together with our partner NMS, JESS3 designed and developed the C-SPAN Debate Hubs. The site features minute-by-minute timelines tracking how long a candidate had spoken during the vice presidential and three presidential debates with a built-in platform for archived, searchable transcripts. To deliver content efficiently and effectively, the site was built on a heavily customized WordPress backend and included other open-source technologies, such as MIT’s SIMILE timeline project. The Debate Hub was a finalist for a 2009 Webby and IPDI Golden Dot award in the category of politics, respectively.
